English

Background and Objective:

The quality of human life—whether good or corrupt—depends on the adoption of proper theoretical and practical frameworks, commonly referred to as a lifestyle. The choice of lifestyle is shaped by one’s knowledge, culture, and religion. The Holy Qur’an, with its timeless and universal principles, serves as a guide for the lifestyle of Muslims. Among its central functions is the depiction and interpretation of the lives of earlier peoples, saints, and prophets (PBUT), offering models for reflection, moral lessons, and the application of positive elements. The present study aims to critically identify the components of the lifestyle of the people of Prophet Noah (PBUH) and, through Qur’anic evidence, to list the spiritually harmful factors in their way of life that ultimately led to their destruction.

Materials and Methods:

Data for this study were collected through library and documentary research. The research method is descriptive–analytical, and the level of analysis is content analysis.

Findings and Conclusion:

An analytical reading of the Qur’anic verses reveals that the lifestyle of the people of Noah (PBUH) was founded upon principles incompatible with spiritual well-being. Five main components—ignorance, arrogance, rebellion, denial of truth, and especially injustice—undermined the cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of spiritual health, resulting in a morally and socially decayed society. Among these, injustice, as the most destructive factor, became institutionalized within their social structure, eroding justice, peace, and collective cohesion. Rebellion, rooted in self-sufficiency, denial of the Hereafter, and self-superiority, corrupted both heart and intellect, culminating in collective ruin. The interplay of these factors illustrates a Qur’anic paradigm in which the collapse of spiritual health stems from the convergence of cognitive corruption, moral deviation, and the dominance of oppressive structures.
